this research assessed chemistry teachers’ pedagogical knowledge towards the use of ict
in teaching among science and technical secondary schools in zamfara state, nigeria. three research
objectives, corresponding research questions, and two null hypotheses were formulated to guide the
study. descriptive survey design was adopted for this study, the population as well as the sample of
this study consisted of all chemistry teachers of science and technical secondary schools within the
state which comprised of 62 chemistry teachers of varying qualification. test of chemistry teachers’
pedagogical knowledge on ict was used as instruments for data collection and the instrument was
validated by the experts. the reliability co-efficient of 0.91 was obtained respectively. the results of
the analyses showed that chemistry teachers of science and technical secondary schools have no
pedagogical knowledge on ict and chemistry teachers’ qualification has no significance on their
pedagogical knowledge on ict. as a result, the study recommends that the state government should
make ict literacy mandatory to all chemistry teachers and science teachers generally government
and other stakeholders in the field of education should organize a training seminars, conference and
workshops in order to boost the pedagogical knowledge on ict for these teachers. furthermore,
government and other stakeholders should organize an orientation program in order to enlighten
chemistry teachers and science teachers generally, about ict and its application in education. it is
expected that this will help in boosting the standard of education in zamfara state.
